Love Songs of Carbon wins Roland Mathias Poetry Award
Philip Gross has won this year's Roland Mathias Poetry Award (Wales Book of the Year) for his latest collection, Love Songs of Carbon. His eighteenth book of poetry is a coming of age volume inhabiting the ageing body with a confident, inventive curiosity.
Winners were announced at an award ceremony at The Redhouse, Merthyr Tydfil on 21 July. The overall winner of Wales Book of the Year was Thomas Morris for his short story collection We Don't Know What We're Doing.
