Bloodaxe poets at StAnza 2025
Three poets published by Bloodaxe Books - Imtiaz Dharker, Gwyneth Lewis and Charlotte Van den Broeck - will be at StAnza, Scotland's International Poetry Festival, this year. StAnza is taking place in St Andrews and online 14-16 March. The full programme can be found here.
On Friday 14 March at 7pm, Charlotte Van den Broeck will take part in the festival's opening night celebrations alongside a huge line-up of poets appearing at the festival, followed by a headline reading by Ruth Padel. Charlotte will then be taking part in a live recording of The Lantern Scottish Poetry podcast the following morning, at 10am on Saturday 15 March, reading and in discussion with Nuala Watt and hosts Kathleen Jamie and Alistair Heather.
Gwyneth Lewis, whose new collection First Rain in Paradise is published by Bloodaxe next month, will be leading a masterclass on the theme of 'delight' at 3.30pm on Saturday 15 March and will be reading at the 'Poetry Centre Stage' event alongside Raymond Antrobus later that day at 7pm.
On Sunday 16 March at 6.30pm, Imtiaz Dharker will read alongside Caroline Bird at an event celebrating the 20th anniversary of St Mungo's Mirrorball. Imtiaz's most recent collection Shadow Reader was published in May last year, and was a Poetry Book Society Special Commendation. Imtiaz's reading will take place in the Byre Theatre: Auditorium and online.
