Author, playwright, theatre director and translator, Roger Pulvers has published 30 books in English and Japanese, including novels, plays, collected essays, translations (from Japanese, Russian and Polish), and his autobiography, The Unmaking of an American. His recent books include The Honey and the Fires (ABC Books, Australia), secular stories from the Bible rewritten for the 21st century, and his translation of Kenji Miyazawa's Strong in the Rain (Bloodaxe Books, 2007). He divides his time between Australia and Japan.
