Emily Lygo studied Russian at the University of Oxford, where she completed her D. Phil in 2006. She is now Senior Lecturer in Russian at the University of Exeter, and her main research interest is Russian poetry. Her translation of Tatiana Voltskaia’s Cicada: Selected Poetry & Prose was published by Bloodaxe Books in 2006. She was co-author of Leningrad Poetry 1953-75: The Thaw Generation (Peter Lang, 2010), and her study, The Art of Accommodation, was published by Peter Lang in 2011.
