Andrew McAllister has a PhD on Basil Bunting and Louis Zukofsky, and studied the Objectivists at the Universities of Hull and Texas. After working in London and as associate editor of Bête Noire during the 1980s, he was assistant editor and publicity manager of Bloodaxe Books from 1990 to 1996 and then an editor at Penguin Books. He presented the first two series of Radio 4's poetry programme Stanza, and was a judge of the Poetry Society's National Poetry Competition in 1995. He now lives in Yorkshire.
