Åke Persson is Senior Lecturer in English at University West and Associate Professor of English at the University of Gothenburg. He lectured in Swedish at Trinity College Dublin from 1986 to 1996 and wrote his doctorate on the work of Brendan Kennelly. He edited Kennelly’s Journey into Joy: Selected Prose (Bloodaxe Books, 1994) as well as the 60th birthday festschrift This Fellow with the Fabulous Smile: a tribute to Brendan Kennelly (1996).
