Imtiaz Dharker was awarded the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry for her fifth collection Over the Moon. Her sixth, Luck is the Hook, is published by Bloodaxe on 29 March 2018. The book was given a pre-publication launch at Verve Poetry Festival in Birmingham on 15 February and was formally launched at St Paul's Cathedral in London on 13 April. She will be reading at a number of festivals in 2018, including Cuirt, and Newcastle Poetry Festival, with more appearances to be announced later in the year.

Cúirt International Festival of Literature has announced highlights of the 2018 festival. Contributors to the 33rd Cúirt International Festival of Literature include Winner of the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry, Imtiaz Dharker
Pakistani-born British poet and artist, Imtiaz Dharker, will read from her new poetry collection Luck is the Hook, which is published in March 2018. Dharker is an award-winning poet and also an accomplished artist; all her collections are illustrated with her drawings, which form an integral part of her books. An exhibition of her drawings will be on display during the festival.
Imtiaz will be reading alongside fellow Bloodaxe poet Pasacale Petit, whose 7th collection Mama Amazonica, Poetry Book Society Choice for Autumn 2017, was published in September 2017.
